Quote for a comprehensive builders report to send to EQC

Job description

General Building
Ashburton

Our rental property in Ashburton has suffered some exterior cosmetic damage due to the earthquakes. The EQC report has said: cracking to wall cladding (concrete block) on north side wall of main dwelling. Cosmetic damage to north side wall framing of garage (concrete block), cosmetic damage to south side wall framing of garage (concrete block), cosmetic damage to west side wall framing of garage (concrete block). We are concerned as a plasterer that has looked at it has stated that there are actually earthquake cracks on 90% of the exterior walls of both the house and garage. All the plastering repairs are going to mean that the whole house will need to be re-painted (which would have had to have been done anyway even with the small repairs that EQC have highlighted) We have written to EQC explaining the situation and they have advised to do the following: 1. Get an independent builders report 2. The report must details the location and extent of the damage which has been missed along with its estimated cost to repair the property. - this will require the builder to obtain written quotes from an exterior plasterer and painter 3. The report must specify that the damage is earthquake related and contain a full breakdown of material and labour costs (which will come from the quotes from plasterer and painter) 4. Comprehensive photographs of the missed damage which must clearly show the extent and location of damage. We are therefore seeking a quote from a builder as to completing all of the above (including engaging with painters and plasterers to obtain quotes to include in the report) so that we can provide EQC with the report.
