Thorn rd new build - exterior brick

We are doing a new build and want the exterior to be a bagged brick (although I’m not certain that’s the correct method) I’ll attach a pic. I need to know how this look is achieved. Is it done with a runnier or softer mortar Than usual etc. also, to me the bricks look skinny. Is this possible.
