Repair old, cracked mortar in house brick wall

Mortar between concrete foundation and brick has cracked, and has let rainwater in to the bedroom. As a temporary fix I've applied silicone sealant, this should be removed so the mortar can be repaired properly. Some other mortar cracks on this wall may need repair also.
