I have a house built in 1995 that is in need of earthquake repairs to brick veneer cladding (Monier 70 series bricks - colour "Cotswold" - which I understand are no longer available). Mostly, the damage appears to be cracking in the mortar (see pictures for damage), but on one wall, the bricks have moved upto 10-20mm off the foundation and about 6 bricks are cracked - this wall may need to be taken down and rebuilt - also covered by the supplied pictures. Also, in a few places the brick ties need to be retied back to the house framing (which may also require affected walls to be partially dismantled). I would expect approx half the cladding on the house needs repairs. I would hope that the existing bricks can be re-used, otherwise I also may follow the option of re-cladding the house with a non-brick finish. Initially, I am looking for advice and a quote - for which I expect I would need to pay for as I may not proceed to the next stage. But if I do proceed with the brick repairs, I would expect to used the bricklayer who supplies the "best" quote.
