Landscaping plan, suburban Kamo

Job description

House Design
Whangarei

We would like a basic landscaping plan for our suburban section. We are on 500m2 gently sloping with a basic 1950s house and attached garage, a 2 year old and a cat. Other than fencing, a camellia tree and a tangelo tree, the gardens are a blank canvas. We don't need a detailed planting plan of x plant goes where, or any allowance for doing any of the landscaping work - we just want some inspiration for how to lay out a low maintenance family garden. Things such as: - where is the best place to put a (small) raised vege garden? - when we put french doors in from the dining room, what are the pros and cons (and price difference) of a deck vs paving? - is it worthwhile 'terracing' the back lawn or do we leave it sloping? - can we work around the ancient but reliable washing line? - where can we accommodate some space for trike riding and a swing set? - what are some suggestions for unkillable plants for the garden beds under the front windows and perhaps along the fences? The successful tradesperson will of course need to visit and meet with us in order to come up with a plan for the garden - but at this stage (with work and a small child to juggle) I would appreciate an indication or estimate of price without necessarily needing to have people visit in order to quote. Thanks!

Jonathon has been excellent to deal with - when he came to speak to us we quickly realised that we didn't so much need a fancy 'plan' drawn up as the benefit of his advice about laying out the garden and what to put where (exactly what I wanted). Jonathon was happy to do that, came up with a fantastic layout for the garden, and produced a basic landscaping plan to show us how it would work. All for much less cost than we expected. We couldn't be happier, are really excited about the garden plan, and highly recommend Jonathon to others - he is friendly, practical, and really works with your ideas and budget.
