I am the owner of rural property on the outskirts of Whakatane. I would like to build a multi generational home on the property. I am particularily interested in multifaceted homes/ octagonal homes. We have seen designs for kitsets from Indonesia and investigated importing them. We would like to know if this is something a local designer and builder could achieve more cost effectively. I have received permission from the regional council – we are above the flood zone. Inside our desgin brief are 1. solar system to power bank – feed back to grid 2. underfloor heating, polished cement floors. 3. wide doorways to future proof for elderly occupants. 4. Sound proofing, double glazing 5. Thermal and sound proof walls. 6. Water conservation 7. Decking single story 8. Three bedrooms two master and one double ( no single bedrooms), two bathrooms 9. Enclosed carport 10. Central capola ( light) 11. Each unit to be between 1500sq ' to 2000sq ' The building would be three identical modules connected through lockable doors or modules. We require a quote for your services to draw up the design for Whakatane district council approval, a second quote for cost to build before we go out to builders.
