Kitchen expansion

Hi, we’re looking at renovating our kitchen. It is a gully kitchen, too small for us, with a ‘family room (name of the space taken from the plan description)’ right next to it. The room is not being used for that purpose at all, so looking at utilising this space if possible and to expand our kitchen (Family room is actually an area where one entry point to the house is and it also takes you to another 2 rooms and a bathroom – really it is a hallway with lots of wasted space - see photos attached). At this first stage, we are looking either for a draftsman or possibly an architect, someone who can think outside of the box and can tell us what our options are (if there are any of we better focus on our current kitchen space only). We are Wellington-based, in Horokiwi.
