We need to find a solution for linking an upstairs deck with a ground level deck. The top deck was built in the 70s (I think) and it's piles look thinner than what would be used today, it also has an extension for a dining room built on it so we would like someone to confirm it's stability and if anything needs to be done to ensure it is safe in light of the earthquakes etc we have currently been experiencing. And finally, we would like to look at options to make better use of the downstairs rumpus room to ultimately improve the indoor/outdoor flow between the living area upstairs and the rumpus room/large deck downstairs. Possibly look at adding in a bi fold door in there somewhere? A competent architect (or draftsman?) needed to provide advice and drawings to help us come to up with a cost effective plan for utilising the great spaces we have at our home.
