we are putting a deck extension on and want to put a permanent roof structure up as well. We don't want to have to get resource consent so it must be no bigger then 20 square meters in area. We know our deck size, our deck material we want to use. But we just cant figure out our roof. we have looked at Louvre technology and feel the price tag too high. Our house has a gable end. Do we flat roof or carry on the gable?? It is exposed to the wind so must be made pleasant in windy conditions or no use to us. It is also scorching hot all afternoon which is why we need a roof. We may consider glassing it all in, as a conservatory in the future but not now. I love the idea of a hanging chair and stuff hanging from the roof e.g. lights. So we need help to decide the best roof option.
