Active job

Lounge extension, new deck.

Work is on a little cottage in the middle of nowhere, approximately 50km to either Pukekohe or Huntly. The lounge used to open onto a small veranda. The previous owner removed the door and enclosed the veranda. We'd like to remove the wall itself so that the lounge is actually bigger rather than just having an extra nook attached to it. Not sure if we can take it all out and just have a beam to support the upstairs? The original work was pretty shonky and needs some attention. We'd also like to put a new external door and then (possibly at a later date, depending on cost) a deck beyond. Haven't given much thought to deck design, but would be approximately 10m x 5m, with railings and stairs as the floor level is approximately 2m off the ground at this side of the house.
