I have some trees that are too close to the house. I've lived here three years, and had the house painted a couple of years ago. Before that could be done, some rotten wood had to be taken out and windows replaced on the south side, where the trees are. I like trees but also need space around the house. They're growing fast and I think the best thing is just to get rid of them, and poisoned so they don't grow back again. I don't know what they are, but if they're natives I do have more that are further from the house, and they're certainly fast growing. There are also kawakawa and rangiora which I'll keep as they're easier for me to cut back as needed. There's another tree in the front I'd like removed or at least topped - it could be five finger, I'm not sure. And at the side, an overgrown fruiting camellia. I'm open as to whether the trees are removed from the property or cut up a bit as I can find room for them down a small gully on my back section.
