Flickering TV screen

Have an old Samsung TV that often starts flickering when it has been running for a while. When it is not flickering the picture is usually quite bright. Flickering lines are both horizontal and vertical. Don't have a lot of money to spend on a new one and dont know how much this kind of job would cost. This is just a stab in the dark
