Temperature in the oven is high even if the thermostat dial is set to low

We have a Fisher and Paykel freestanding oven (60cm) and we have noticed that the temperature inside the oven seems to be always high even if the thermostat dial is set to low. This results to food getting burnt. Please let me us know if you have an experience fixing this issue, how much it would cost and when can you do it. Thank you. Kind regards, Adrian
