Repair F&P washing machine

Repair F&P washing machine model GW612 Excellence. Washing machine starts beeping soon after putting a load on and stops working, either while filling or soon after. If I press any button the lid lock light comes on which stops the beeping, but the machine won't respond to anything other than the power button, which starts the beeping again. The power button does not turn the machine off. If I turn the machine off at the wall the beeping begins again as soon as I switch it on again.
