minor washing machine repair -- more like half the above estimate.

I bought a small washing machine second hand -- it developed a rattle which I noticed quite early on, the rattle increased with a load yesterday (full but not heavy -- 2 double sheets). I tried rearranging and when it got to the last(?) spin, the machine showed on the monitor that it was not draining. I checked the hose: it drained onto the floor and bucket fine but the rattle continued. I think the trouble may be related to the spinning mechanism. This is a cheap machine but less than 2 years old (I'm told). I cannot afford a costly repair. Thanks.
