Smeg oven not heating over 160deg

Our Smeg SE398X- --- is no longer heating to normal capacity. I Googled the problem and found it is not uncommon - a thermostat I think and a relatively easy fix - I hope. Our house is 15 years old but unsure whether the oven is original.
