Fix gas hob burner starting & staying on problem

I have a 5 burner Delonghi built-in gas hob. All the burners are working. But the central triple ring burner takes a while to get it to stay on unlike the others. It ignites correctly but more often than not it won't stay on but as soon as you release the control knob. It does take a number of tries usually before it stays on. In addition, if you turn the control knob down to reduce the heat, the burner will go off after a while. Thermocouple needs replacing?
