Make our dishwasher happy

Our dishwasher is probably due for a service. For a while, if we don't clear the drainage from minor debries each week, it'll stop mid cycle. Now it doesn't seem to want to even start the rinse cycle. It came with the house, but we have no interest in a new one at this stage. It's a simple looking Baumatic. Don't know the model sorry.
