Insinkerator cheap fix

I am selling my house (settlement next week) and my insinkerator isn't working, and it's listed as a chattel. I rarely use it and have tried the reset button but still no go. I don't want the expense of a whole new unit, just want it to be working when the purchaser takes over the house!
