repair grill on old (30 years +) gas stove

The thick chops on the grill pan somehow got stuck under the grill, and jiggling it around trying to get it out, I somehow pulled the grill apart, and have no idea how to put it back together. (It's the sort which is under the rings on the hob, and I don't even know how one gets at it.)
