Our TV aerial sits over our house where birds pooh onto our deck. I've had a guy out and we still have the old aerial as well as the new digital aerial there, he said the old one can come down and the little one just move back slighty but as it's up quite high on a sloped roof he said I'll need someone steadier than his old legs to do it!!
