Can't get TV to work

We recently moved into a new place (Hauraki rather than Takapuna) and can't seem to get the TV to work. We were living overseas for a couple of years and only have an old Dish-TV box. So there's a good a chance we'll need to fork out for something newer (Apple TV?). But the point is, I can't even get any channels at the moment and need someone to come round and make it all work.

Dish relocation

Hi, due to a couple of fairly tall palms, on windy days our Sky reception becomes patchy. Am keen to have our dish moved further up/along and realigned so that it has a clearer, unobstructed satellite link. Photo gives approx height and proposed new positioning. UHF TV aerial check

For the past few weeks we have randomly had sound and picture breaking up on all channels except Sky Open. Often get 'Weak or no signal' notice on screen when there is no sound or picture at all. We have 2 TVs which are both affected. I have checked online to see if there are any reports of this happening more widely in the area, but nothing, apparently.

We live in an apartment block. Recently after strong winds some of the apartments have lost TV signal. We would like someone to have a look. The satellite is on the roof. One can get access through the top apartment but would need a ladder to get onto the roof. From the top apartment it is only one floor to the roof about 3 meters.
