Activate existing TV Antenna

I have a Sony Bravia TV on the ground floor. The house is wired for the TV antenna for local TV channels and the Antenna is already installed. But the Sony TV does not seem to pick up the Antenna signals during auto programming, though our second TV upstairs works well with the Antenna connection. We would like to activate the Antenna connection on the ground floor also. The Sony Bravia TV on the ground floor is NTSC model but we have the convertor from PAL to NTSC signals that has worked elsewhere in the past.
