What are connection tokens?

Your Connection Subscription provides you with tokens to use in the Builderscrack marketplace.

What can I get with my tokens?

You surrender tokens in the Builderscrack marketplace to obtain connections to homeowners who have posted a job. We will send you relevant job lead invites based on your selected profile settings, such as trade category and location. No more than two other tradies can be connected on a job lead invite at a time.

Tokens are deducted when the homeowner accepts your request to connect on their job. No token refunds will be given after connection, regardless of the outcome. There are three ways in which you can connect:

• Standard lead invites – The lead invite will advise you of the token value of the connection. By chasing the lead invite, you agree to this token value being deducted from your token balance if the homeowner accepts your connection request.
• Direct enquiries – A homeowner may choose to send their job details directly to you using a direct enquiry form. When you receive a direct enquiry, the job details will advise you of the token value of the connection. By accepting the direct enquiry you agree to this token value being deducted from your token balance.
• Contact reveals – Tokens are also automatically surrendered when a homeowner reveals the contact details on your profile using the Builderscrack platform.

How does Builderscrack determine the number of tokens for each job lead invite?

Builderscrack determines the number of tokens for each job lead invite dynamically; this means we may continually change the number of tokens to be surrendered until the job is chased.

We use an algorithm that may take into account the trade category of the job, the geographical location of the job, job description, estimated consumer intent, estimated job value or size, when (time of day, week, month or year) the job was posted, interest in the job (supply and demand), and other information. Even after the job lead invite has been sent to relevant tradespeople, we may continue to change the number of tokens for the job lead invite depending on the interest received from tradespeople.

We may keep changing the number of tokens to be surrendered for a job lead invite until the job is chased; at this point, the token number is fixed. Tokens at this fixed number are deducted only when the homeowner accepts the connection request.
