Hiring an expert tiler gave the final polishing touch to one of our homeowner’s stunning kitchen renovations……

Only a few months ago Natalie’s kitchen was a dark space, coated in the once popular dark blue of the 90’s. It not only made the already small kitchen appear tiny, but it created a dark feeling throughout the wider open plan living area.

Fast forward to today, and the transformation is something out of a magazine. Not limited to the kitchen itself, but also the lightness it’s brought to the rest of her living space.

The Vision

Natalie started with a firm style in mind, along with some key “must have” elements.

“I had a vision of what I wanted, I wanted it bright, fresh, clean, compared with the dark blue…. every time I came into the space there was a gloomy feel to the room.”

A essential element was to incorporate a crisp, white subway tile splash-back.

The Execution

After sorting her kitchen supplier, she turned her attention to finding a tiler. She received a quote from the kitchen companies own tiler but wanted at least one other to compare. Google led her to Builderscrack.co.nz.

Having never heard of it before, she did her research and decided “I would give it a go…I really liked the sound of the website because all these other homeowners had put pictures up or reviewed how good a tradie was”. This gave a sense of security and endorsement.

She posted her job and had 6 tradies chase. One of the first to contact her was Richard, an expert tradie with over 163 jobs on the platform under his belt, and consistent reviews of 5/5. After receiving his quote, seeing his experience and taking in his reviews, Natalie decided to use him.

He was really flexible when Natalie had to delay the start day, due to a substantial leak that was discovered after the old kitchen was taken out. So flexible in fact, that he came on a Saturday to get the job done for her. His work, as his reviews indicated, was flawless.

The Result

Nothing short of impressive, particularly when compared to what it looked like before and the modest budget Natalie was working with. The design brief was knocked out of the park, with the fresh, clean and bright mood that’s been achieved in such a small space.

As for Natalie, she couldn’t be happier, sharing that she “wouldn’t change anything about the kitchen, its tiny but it’s perfect for this wee house. Love it all”.

The Verdict

Along with getting a stunning new kitchen, Natalie is thrilled to have found a new way to get and compare quotes for all her future renovations/repairs, in the one simple place.

“I would definitely go straight to Builderscrack in the future……It was so easy, and the notifications come straight to your email. Will be going straight there next time.”

And her thoughts on her tradie?

“Richard did an amazing job of our kitchen tiling. It’s really finished our new kitchen off perfectly. Very happy!!!! Recommend to all.”

She goes onto say that the bathroom is next on the renovation agenda, and she “will definitely be getting Richard back again, also my parents want to do their kitchen and bathroom too, and will be using Builderscrack”
