Basement is 8 m x 6.5,m and 2,3m high. Is part of an extension project and has 1 level above it (open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room) Basement is set in to hillside (sandy soil) and constructed of filled concrete blocks. Original (external)waterproofing used bitumenous product painted on to blocks but appears to have been applied improperly resulting in ongoing damp/water seeping through blocks. Require application of a membane type waterproofing system by an approved applicator who can supply at least a 5 year waranty for their work. Surface will be prepared ready for applicator to apply membrane. The working area will shored up to ensure tradesperson can work safely. The fill removed from the work area will be put back on completion of the mebrane application by others.
