Concrete block water ingress sealing

Small area of downstairs floor is below ground level and minor water ingress has appeared on inside surface of concrete block wall about one meter below outside ground level. The ground is sloping downhill from there. I would prefer it be addressed by digging down and sealing from the outside. About 4.2 m length of wall. Soil is clay but has shrunk away from the side of the wall leaving a gap for water to travel down.
