Can you, please, help us? We"ve got a house with cedar weatherboards, in Lowry Bay, facing west; built in 1982. The front of the house is exposed to strong sun and southerly winds. The problem: the cedar weatherboard have warped in the sun, so rain gets under them in a strong southerly, blows along to a tall, narrow window in the western face, and runs down inside the wall. It doesn?t happen very often (only during horizontal rain at a particular angle), but clearly, it is something that has to be stopped. The window edge has obviously been sealed many times before our time (we?ve been here for 15 years), but it needs doing again. We think that the lower edges of the weatherboards also need sealing for several metres to the south of the window, and then the wall needs painting again. Difficulty: The house is against a hill, so the front is very high, and the repair job will need to be done around a tall window on the third floor. It"ll need tall scaffolding. Can you help us with this? Many thanks, Ira and Alan Beu 126A Cheviot Road, Lowry Bay, Lower Hutt Ph. ...
