Our 43 year old house has water leaking only in the front of the house, built by our local Block Layer.). Water pools about half a meter into the inside front of the house (dampness & water). It only happens when the strong westerly blows a certain way and hits the front of the house (we are not too sure which direction the prevailing wind has an effect). Only the bottom 2 layers of block show signs of bubbling paint inside & outside. As far as we know the blocks are hollow - not filled. This problem has been here for about 15 years. In the past 10 years we have tried to apply water proof sealant on the blocks but just the standard stuff you get from Bunnings which of course had no effect. The roof side flashing was replaced about 5 years ago by a reputable builder. Others have suggested possibly the aluminium window and sliding door may need to be resealed. The terrace is hollow not solid concrete but we can't remember if the base of the house is solid concrete or not.
