Fix shower/bath water splash issue

Have a bath/shower combo which is right next to a window and window ledge. When you have a shower there is nothing protecting all the water from going onto the wooden ledge which will probably rot it. So either need a shower curtain installed all the way round the shower or the wooden ledge waterproofed somehow.
