Gables - hole in a wall needs fixing

Part of the wall cracked off and will need replacing (looks like cement board, see picture attached). Will need to also cut a hole for the air vent on the wall when replacing. The roof is quite shallow and accessible from an upstairs deck with a small A frame ladder. There is also interior access through the ceiling if needed.
