Replacing outside exhaust cover of bathroom fan on second story of house.

The cover off the bathroom exhaust fan has been eaten by birds which we think are now getting into the tube inside the house. Second story, too high to let my husband climb the ladder to replace, we are retired. It is in a bit of an akward place too, need someone quite young and agile! We have a replacement that came with a new fan we bought last year, would like it just wiring over the original one if not possible to replace just to keep birds out. Thanks Jan Hewitt
