Job description

Extractor Ventilation Chatswood, North Shore

Published on 20th February 2026

To fit a new cowl on a kitchen extractor fan roof pipe to replace the current one which has rusted through and fallen off.

The house is in Chatswood, North Shore, is 2 storey with access only from ground level, with a decramastic roof which is soft and can buckle if walked on.

The visible extractor vent pipe from inside the house is 210mm diameter. I assume this is a covering sheath and the inner pipe of this is 200mm diameter, but I have no way to confirm that.

Wanting to fit a similar cowl to the mushroom one pictured.

If you know anyone who could tackle this, please let me know. Thank you.

"Made the job easier to do with his vehicle mounted lift instead of mucking around with scaffolding. He talked thorough the job and completed it in a timely manner."
