Quote to duct hot air from fireplace to downstairs bedroom

I would like to know whether it is worthwhile installing some vents to duct hot air from my fireplace, which is upstairs, down to the bedrooms below. The fireplace is not directly above a bedroom but it's within a couple of meters. I was thinking about those passive vents in the floor rather than an active system but want to know what would work best.
