Ducting extractor to outside

The kitchen extractor fan is currently ducting into the ceiling. I needs to be ducted outside through the awning. There is some ducting in the ceiling already, but may not be enough to reach the awning, possibly short my 1m. Awning will need to be cut and a screen fitted for the outflow from the extractor. Apologies the photos won’t be much help.
