Externally vent kitchen rangehood

My house has an existing kitchen rangehood which is vented into the ceiling space. I need it to be externally vented please. There is loads of ceiling space to work in. Ideally it would be good to do this ASAP, as I have the insulation being topped up shortly (before the fibrous ceilings are painted) and I'm assuming it would be best to get this ventilation job done before that. Sorry I can't supply photos as I'm not at home today but I have provided a photo showing the substantial ceiling space.
