Hi, I have an access door approx. 900x900mm in the subfloor blockwork of my unit which is showing up as 'unauthorised work' on my LIM. To have it removed, Auckland council is requiring me "obtain the services of a Structural Engineer to view opening, assess and provide a methodological process/procedure for enclosing the opening with appropriate calculations (A copy of this report to be sent to me at Council)" before having a LBP do the repair work. I have an email from council with details of their requirements. Council have suggested I can either have the opening blocked back up, or structural framing and another, smaller door installed. I would prefer to have a door as it is useful storage space but also looking for the most cost effective option. Need to have it finished as soon as possible as it is currently holding up the sale of my property. Thank you. Regards, Sam
