We require an assessment of the existing retaining wall to ascertain whether the replacement is required or can the life of the retaining wall be extended with a cost effective solution and drainage improvements. Currently, there is a tell tale sign of soil shift as water pipe, gully trap being pulled away from the wall on our property.
We currently don’t know the ownership of this retaining wall since the neighbour have been very elusive. We think the retaining belongs to them since they have changed the level of the ground to take advantage of being the corner property. Considering the requirement is on our side, we are looking at cost effective solution that we can put in place from our side of the property without breaking the bank.
