We purchased a home that was previously converted to flats without a resource consent. Our intention is to convert back into a single family home and as part of that, we will be reconfiguring the floor plan and probably adding onto the rear of the home. We’re not ready to move forward on that just yet (still researching architects, etc) but in the meantime, would like to get someone to look at the property just to make sure it is structurally sound enough for us to move onto the site. I have had a building report, and the inspector suggested we get a structural/consulting engineer look at the (slightly) sloping floor - it is the second storey with the sag, and everything on the ground floor looks level and solid (good underfloor access, piles look to be in decent shape).
