Achilles External Stairs
Job description
House is being prepared for sale. External stairs need upgrading and a small two wall porch is to be added to the top deck. A pre-sale inspection indicates that an external stairway leading from a small deck outside a second level kitchen door to the ground needs some work. - "Timber reasonable condition with cosmetic damage or deterioration. The join to the deck area is not well fixed. Handrails do not comply with today's standards and need upgrading. The small deck is fixed with nails only and needs joist hangers and/or coach screws. The deck may need to be packed off the cladding. I also wish to add a small roof and two side walls to the deck to make the area more weatherproof. Note that another job has been posted for the same house and could be done together. See 'Achilles Exterior Stairs'

Who did the work? It was a team effort involving the owner and staff. Both Donnie and Clark were involved with the two jobs (Stairs and Deck). They got the job because they could think outside the square and came up with solutions that no-one else had. DJ Contracting will get more work from me as a result of this.
