Renovate rimu staircase
Job description
We have 3story house with rimu staircase including handrail stringers & newal, but the half landings where stairs turn are varnished particleboard. The handrails, newals, strings balusters we’re all stained and then painted and we have removed a lot of that. The actual stairs have always been carpeted so are the natural wood. Ideally we want to restore the rimu and replace the particleboard with rimu too.

The job was a very finicky one, with a few uncertainties that we knew wouldn't be clarified until after the work was started. So it took longer than Jon originally anticipated, though we knew up front that this was a strong possibility - and Jon kept up fully informed along the way so there were no surprises. We are very pleased with the result; it looks fantastic so thanks for everything Jon!

I think a lot of people think that giving there builders a hard time improves there likelihood of getting a good job, well it doesn't.
