Kitchen skylight

We have a 3 year old home built by generation home - not one of their standard builds, -and would like to see if it is possible to put a skylight in the kitchen as it is a little dark. We live at Pegasus with easy access, we do have an attic but not over the kitchen. We do not mind if the skylight is over the kitchen table or bench, and realise we will have to move/change light fittings
