Looking for comprehensive advice about building a freestanding greenhouse - approx 4.6m long by 1.5m wide. I have collected a of old windows and some doors, so far I have 30 cedar windows (15 600mm x 1200mm and 15 600mm x 450mm) and one large double glazed window (approx 87cm x 207cm). I was thinking of doing a mono pitch roof with either clearlite or twinwall polycarbonate.
Because I am renting the property from a family member I don't want to do a concrete base or have it drilled/piled into the ground. I am unsure whether I should use gravel, a waterproof membrane and then a wooden base/floor.
Because my skills are in gardening and plants rather than woodworking I feel as though I could really use some advice on planning, materials and executing the build.
I am based in Wellington and would be happy to seek advice from someone locally if it would be easiest to come to the property initially or alternatively I am also happy to meet with someone over zoom etc.
