Roof inspection and repair

Hi there, We have this weird little addition of the back of our house over a ranch slider door that we would like to replace. The addition extends 900mm from the original exterior of the house. But the roof was not extended. Instead there is a bit of aluminium flashing that run from the edge of the soffit down to the top of the door. This flashing is rusted and damaged in places. We want to replace the door but our builder has raised concern that the existing flashing might not work with a new door so what we would like is to get someone to come inspect the current roof situation and give some recommendations on how to best move forward. Ideally we would like to extend the original roof another 900mm to cover the addition but we are not sure if this will be in our budget. Look forward to hearing from you.
