Roof (10m x 8m) over deck

We are looking to build a roof over our deck. Approx 10m wide along the house, and extending 8m out. We know we will need a consent, but want to organise the builder first. The roof would have quite a few 'sky lights' in it. Ie; some of the roof would be corrugated iron, but some of the panels would be polycarbonate (not corrugated in shape, just flat like a window, with the UV protection and some tinting). The roof would also have a ceiling / soffit (not under the skylight panels obviously). We would also paint the soffit and the upright beams (we can probably do that part ourselves, but am interested to know if this could be done too). We can draw a basic sketch, but need help with whatever sketch is needed to get consent approved through Manawatu District Council.
