Mansion House Cafe roof - membrane replacement

Remove and replace the existing 2m x 2.6m flat roof asbestos membrane with new. Chrysotile (white) asbestos was detected in the existing membrane by Dowdell and Associated Ltd - April 2009. Appropriate measures will need to be taken when handling and disposing of the old roof membrane. The building is located in the Mansion House historic reserve on Kawau Island. The small flat section of the cafe roof can be accessed by a set of timber steps which leads to a storage area above the public toilets. The Department of Conservation can provide accommodation on Kawau Island, but the contractor will need to arrange transport, tools and materials.
