Rusted roof needs fixing/replacing

The flat iron roof that’s out over our front door thru to the kitchen backdoor needs fixing/replacing - rusted - see pictures for examples. Unsure how much of the roof needs fixing or whether it's better to chuck a new metal roof over the top or fully replace the roof. Timeframe is pretty flexible but sooner the better.
