Lower Mezzanine

We'd like to lower and improve a small mezzanine. The existing mezzanine is 3.5m by 1m and 2.5m above the floor of the lounge. We are looking for suggestions but our ideas are: 1. Lower the mezzanine floor by 750mm 2. Expand the width by 250mm to 500mm 3. Change the ladder 4. Build in bookcases around the outside at ground level 5. Integrate the door into the bookcases There's no urgency on timing.
