Minor Alteration of Eaves

Job description

General Renovations
Christchurch

At the back of my property, down a long driveway, there’s a 65m2 15-year-old family flat constructed along two boundaries. The eaves of this building were built slightly too large, and consequently overhang the two nearby boundaries by about 100mm. Because of this overhang the building never completed its consenting process, but despite running a few years late we’re still able to fix the issue and get everything signed-off. I’ve had an architectural designer arrange a variation to the original consent, and now need a builder to complete the actual alteration. There are three elements to the job: reducing the eave down the side of the building, reducing the eave along the back of the building, and installing a coverboard over a vertical join in the cladding at the back of the building. The property is located about five minutes from the airport and backs onto Sir William Pickering Drive. I’ve attached drawings from the variation application to give an idea of the scope of work required, and a photo taken from the grass verge along Sir William Pickering Drive.
