Partial Benchtop replacement

Looking to get a new gas cooktop but current cutout and area size of current bench isn't sufficient. Seeing if the area of bench for cooktop could be replaced to accommodate new gas cooktop while ensuring clearance to backwall is compliant. Tried to should in photos the join in the current bench for replacement to start.
